Saxophone Course
Saxophone Course at Malvern College 27th July - 1st August 2025

This course will be tutored by our fabulous tutors, Sarah Jobson and Debbie Scherer, both of whom are highly experienced players and teachers, who have been passing on their knowledge and expertise at saxophone courses for many years.

Please note that the minimum playing standard for this course is Grade 5 level. Participants don't necessarily need to have taken the exam, but should be of that approximate standard. They will also need to be reasonably proficient at sight reading, as music will not be sent out in advance.

Course participants are welcome to bring just one saxophone, or their entire collection! For those bringing multiple saxes, we will endeavour to ensure that you get to play them all.

Course Features:
* Sessions are a mix of tutored and untutored, where our tutors move round from group to group. This allows groups to gain guidance from the tutors and then to practise what they've learnt.
* Group sizes and players are varied for each session, so you'll get to play a wide variety of music and with lots of different people. There are also massed sax sessions where we all play together.
* Huge library of repertoire
* Free time to get together in adhoc groups, explore the surrounding area (Malvern College is very close to the Malvern Hills and Malvern itself), practise, rest and relax etc.
* Breakfast; morning tea/coffee and biscuits; lunch; afternoon tea/coffee and biscuits and dinner.
* There will be an informal Course Celebration/Concert on the Thursday evening, including a performance by the tutors.
* Ensuite accommodation
* Caring administrator - always available to answer any queries you may have before and during the course. Personal and tailored replies....no standard emails here!

The Course Fee is £756 per person for single occupancy of an ensuite room, or £696 per person for sharing a twin ensuite room. Please note that these fees are the total course fees and include your chosen accommodation type, all meals (including tea, coffee and biscuits), your tuition fee and administration fee. Should you wish to bring a non-participating guest with you, the fee for them is £422 (assuming they will be sharing an ensuite twin room with you).
